Nivatha Moothathamby 

M.A., Ph.D Candidate

Nivatha Moothathamby graduated with a Masters of Arts, and is currently completing her PhD in Developmental Psychology and Education, at the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto. She grew up focused on achieving in academics, while also focusing on her passion for Indian Classical dance. She was then given the opportunity to tutor children in the Primary/Junior/Secondary grade levels, and provide academic coaching throughout the school year. Taking on this opportunity led her to understanding her love of supporting and guiding children and youth, from different communities, to help them achieve their fullest potential in academics, dance, and in life. Nivatha believes in fostering a relationship with her students, making a connection, getting to know her students, and creating individualized, interactive and hands-on learning experiences for them to understand the depth of different concepts and to enhance various strategies and skills. In her spare time, Nivatha enjoys dancing, reading, completing DIY projects at home, and spending time with her family and friends.
