Psychological/Psychoeducational Assessments

Psychological Assessments provide insight into why students may be having learning or emotional difficulties by integrating cognitive abilities, academic skill, and social and emotional functioning to develop a picture of how a child or youth is developing.

The full assessment includes:

  • Intake interview

  • Academic assessment and skills testing

  • Psychological assessment

  • Individual consultation and psychologist feedback

  • Written report and relevant diagnoses where applicable

  • Recommendations for next steps and academic interventions

  • Individual feedback session for child/adolescent.

Our full psychological/psychoeducational assessments can lead to diagnosis in:

  • Learning Disabilities

  • Intellectual Disabilities

  • ADHD

  • Language Disorders

  • Anxiety Disorders

  • Depressive Disorders


School-Readiness Screeners

School-readiness screeners use measures of early literacy and numeracy skills for children ages 4-6. This screener is used to identify any developmental delays or academic risk factors for children entering into school.

The school-readiness screener include:

  • Intake interview

  • Testing of early literacy and numeracy skills

  • Individual consultation and parent feedback

  • Written report

  • Recommendations for next steps and academic intervention


Focused Assessments

Focused assessments target specific areas of concern. As such, information gathered and tests used are specific to one of the areas listed below. It is not a full psychoeducational assessment that broadly assesses cognitive, academic, and social-emotional functioning (as described above).

Academic Skills Assessment

Academic skills assessments use academic assessment measures for children ages 6+. This skills assessment is used to identify areas of weakness in academic skills and provide information on developing intervention plans.

Academic skills assessments examine the following areas:

  • Oral Language

  • Reading & Writing

  • Mathematics

The full assessment includes:

  • Intake interview

  • Academic testing

  • Individual consultation and feedback

  • Written report

  • Recommendations for next steps and academic intervention

Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Assessment

ADHD assessments use assessment measures for children ages 6+. This skills assessment is used to identify areas of weakness in attention and executive functioning and provide information on developing intervention plans.

ADHD assessments examine the following areas:

  • Academic Performance

  • Cognitive Performance

  • Executive Functioning Testing and Questionnaires

The full assessment includes:

  • Intake interview

  • Testing

  • Individual consultation and feedback

  • Written report

  • Recommendations for next steps and academic intervention

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Assessment

ASD assessments use academic assessment measures for children ages 4+. This skills assessment is used to identify and investigate queries around autism and provide information on developing intervention plans.

ASDs assessments examine the following areas:

  • Academic Performance

  • Cognitive Performance

  • Adaptive Functioning (if necessary)

The full assessment includes:

  • Testing

  • Individual consultation and feedback

  • Written report

  • Recommendations for next steps and academic intervention


Gifted Assessment

Gifted assessments are conducted to determine whether a child is functioning well-above age expectations in the area of intellectual ability. The intellectual abilities assessed during the test are highly indicative of academic success.

  • Feedback

  • Written report
