Parent Resources

  • Reading

Reading is a complex skill. The ultimate goal when children are learning to read is to become accurate and fluent enough in reading to understand what is read. Foundational literacy skills include Phonemic Awareness, Alphabetic Principles, Word Reading, Reading Fluency, Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension (link each here). You can use our Skills Check-In to get a sense of your child’s reading development, and use our accompanying activities to practice those skills.

  • Homework & Organization

Keeping things organized requires having a system to keep track of things. This means that if things do not have a “home” or a place where they belong, getting organized can be pretty daunting. Having a roadmap for what organization looks like, and breaking the tasks down into parts, can not only help with keeping kids on track towards the goal of staying organized but can also help with getting started.
